The Greely JV improved to 5-1 on the year with a 6-1 defeat of the Fryeburg Raiders. Harry McFarland got the win in five shut out innings of one-hit relief while striking out 5.
The Rangers got off to a hot start in the first, plating their first three batters. Evan Wyman led off with a single and stole second, Jake McDonald doubled him home and scored on a wild pitch, and Nick Butler drove Jacob Whiting home later in the inning with a single. McDonald finished 2 for 2 with 2 doubles, 2 runs scored, and 2 RBI. Wyman was also 2 for 2, with 2 singles, 2 stolen bases, and 2 runs scored. Joe Cimino had an RBI double in the fifth.
Aiden Smith played solid defensively behind the dish, throwing out three base runners and making a tough catch on the run in front of the home dugout in the top of the fourth. In the bottom of the inning Smitty added an RBI single, scoring Alban Michaud.
The Rangers will take on the Falmouth Yachtsmen in Falmouth on Monday.
